Leadership development

Kappa Kappa Gamma’s leadership development program is extremely beneficial and helps develop many new skills that are great for putting on your résumé too.

All chapters of Kappa Kappa Gamma function as a result of different elected officers, committees, and councils. As an officer, one is responsible for her specific area whether it is public relations, education, membership, academics, or social. This helps you become more responsible, organized, and independent. However, most officers have a committee as well which helps with any events or tasks that need to be accomplished.

While cooperating with your committee, you learn teamwork and communication skills. Although having a position in Kappa Kappa Gamma helps you mature as an individual, not having a position doesn’t mean you cannot develop leadership skills because everyone functions within a committee, and you can also have a chance to attend Leadership Academy.

Once a year, all chapters of Kappa Kappa Gamma offer a chance to one first or second year student to attend Leadership Academy. It is a four-day leadership retreat in Martinsville, Indiana. This is a chance to meet members of Kappa Kappa Gamma from all around the USA and Canada while participating in leadership activities in the outdoors. If one is lucky enough to attend, it is one of the most amazing experiences she will have.

Also, every year we have a Leadership Consultant from Kappa Kappa Gamma headquarters come to our house, and lead us in workshops and training initiatives so we can learn more about how to advance our chapter and our professional and personal lives.
